Youth For Understanding (YFU): YFU Programs in Switzerland

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
This is a warning to parents thinking of using YFU, especially Switzerland. Don’t! Be warned that if your child ends up in a poor host family, there is nothing you can do. The current director and inbound coordinator are dishonest and have no business working with exchange students. They should resign from their positions. You would do better choosing another exchange program. I am speaking from a background of supporting YFU for twenty years, hosting and sending exchange students. So, it is not easy for me to write this. But please be warned. Do not send your child to Switzerland under the current leadership.
