CYA offers outstanding academic programs (semester, year, winter and summer) and Virtual Internships programs all of which embrace the vibrant experience of day-to-day contact with the people, the monuments and the landscape of Greece. All the programs place an emphasis on learning beyond the classroom, offering hands-on learning experience in the rich and diverse environment of the country. Our extensive curriculum is complemented by on-site classes adding a new dimension to learning as well as a global understanding of the subjects taught.
All courses at CYA use the abundant resources in Athens and of what can be seen or experienced directly. The Archaeology and Art History courses provide a wealth of opportunities to study authentic material and original artifacts on-site, in the world-renowned museums of Athens and other Greek regions. Courses from other disciplines bring you in direct contact with the local community such as Anthropology, Environmental Studies, Political and Modern Greek, to name a few.
Field study is an integral part of the CYA program. Led by our faculty and experts with extensive knowledge of the relevant sites and locale, students have the opportunity to explore Greece and some of its most significant sites, which are among the most impressive and beautiful of the world.
Our CYA expert faculty and passionate staff are dedicated to offer students the best learning and life changing experience.

Study Abroad with CYA (College Year in Athens)
"I learned too much to summarize. So much about Greek history, about contemporary Greek issues, and about archaeological methods. Outside of the classroom I learned a lot about budgeting, travelling, living alone, how to communicate with people who speak a different language, and about making the most of your time."
Kalei Oliver Wellesley College
"This program was more than worthwhile, it was really remarkable and impactful. I learned how to not be so afraid of the opportunities that life presents us. I learned that I am a much more fluid person than I believed, and I still have a lot to figure out about who I am, but this semester abroad was truly the beginning of that p..."

"My time abroad was truly a period of personal growth, in every sense of the word. Being introverted, shy and even often times clueless, I had to rely on myself and my individual strengths in ways that I just had not before. Definitely one benefit of being abroad is that because you are placed in a new environment, and no longer ..."

"Even as a Greek American who thought I knew everything there was to know about my culture, CYA still taught me new things which speaks to the quality of the class. My professor encouraged open-mindedness towards our experience, which was so valuable and definitely a lesson that is applicable to any traveling whatsoever. CYA is w..."

"I really grew as a person. I learned a lot about my heritage and saw a different side of my life. I see now how easy it is to travel and it opened up a lot of doors for my future. I am a lot stronger and more independent of a person now all from studying abroad with CYA. The time and money spent was so worthwhile. I can't imagin..."
