Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Living in a Spanish-speaking country has improved my Spanish massively. I would recommend all Year Abroad students to have lessons on the side of their placement, as they really improve your confidence. Living in Argentina has really helped me to immerse myself in a new culture and language. "

"I gained a love of British chocolate, biscuits and tea. I also learned that England isn't as hyped up as the pop culture image we get of it makes it out to be, it's actually a lot more ordinary. I think it was worth it to be tied to a new place and to broaden my world perspective and to keep England in my heart now that I'm home..."

"My experience abroad taught me many things, but the most important lesson was that I could survive in a city abroad on my own much better than I had anticipated. "This experience abroad truly changed not only my Duke experience but my life. It was 100% worthwhile and I honestly wish I chose to study abroad in Istanbul for a year instead of just one semester. Everything about this program was amazing and I wish I could tell every other student to choose it."

"I really really really loved London it was such a great city filled with amazing people and things to do. I did not really like my experience at UCL, I wish I had chosen a different university. The classes were a bit too heavy/boring in my department and a lot of classes at too many American study abroad students. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was the most amazing experience I ever had. I would do it again, without any doubts. "Everything? Can I just say that? Of course it was worthwhile, I learned so much and came back a very different person. I'd rather not spend the next two hours talking about the almost infinite number of things I gained and learned from the experience, also, most of these things are indescribable, so I'll stop there."
