Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"So worthwhile - best semester of my life. The people became some of my best friends and the country is indescribable. "
AnneElizabeth U The University of Texas at Austin
"During my time abroad I made friends from all over the world and was able to experience a different culture than what I've always been accustomed to. Learning in an amazing and beautiful environment was entirely worth it, and I recommend anyone who is able to go to branch out and explore what Australia has to offer. "
harrison.kidd The University of Texas at Austin

A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned a lot through different classes I wouldn't take at Middlebury, such as screenwriting in adaptation. I also learned a lot about myself, what kind of person I am becoming, what I want out of a school or town. I also learned more about myself in terms of how I adapt to Middlebury and how as an institution it has given me ..."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned how to travel and meet new people as well as how big the world really is and how much there is outside of my country. Also my spanish improved tremendously when I was in Spain, and I want to continue to improve my language skills"
Luke S Presbyterian College
"If I had to do it all over again, I might pick a place with sunnier, warmer weather where I could do outdoors things all the time and there was a bit more cultural difference. If you don't really wish for rich culture, want to live in a small town, and don't mind constant rain, go to Dunedin! "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained knowledge, perspective and friendships that have helped to shape my views on the world, who I am as a person and to realize what's important to me. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Communication is so important with confidence being key. I learned so much about international relations (but it may just be a drop in the bucket) and people know so much about America from history to even the "hottest" shows and music. Also, people from other countries may indeed know about and like American football! Since I t..."

"Learned immensely about living and learning independently. The city of London is culturally rich, very enjoyable. Goldsmith's Visual Cultures and Media/Communications Departments had extremely thought provoking and fun classes. "
Elizabeth C Wellesley College
"It's not where you are. It's who you're with. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"It was absolutely worth while. I recommend students going to an english speaking country to stray away from external programs as much as possible. They are more costly and don't allow for as authentic of an experience. "
A student Middlebury College

A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I increased my traveling abilities and my ability to dive into and thrive in a different culture."
Bayliegh B Middlebury College

A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned a lot about myself and how I function on my own, alone in another country. I learned to cook a lot of new dishes, and how important it is to reach out to people when you arrive in a new city with very few contacts. I reinforced my love for the mountains (the Alps are 45 minutes away by train). I learned how to turn tow..."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned mostly about independence and being less judge mental about cultures and customs... And that the smallest of habits can make someone who they are or a culture the way it is. It was definitely worthwhile. I want to encourage everybody to go abroad. "
A student Middlebury College
"It was my first experience living abroad, and that was one of the most exciting things. Stockholm was undoubtedly a great place to do that. The whole experience was totally worthwhile, and KTH is such an international university, that I was not only able to meet Swedish students, but also students from all over the world. "
Reid J The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how to live independently and make my own decisions. I got to meet amazing people of New Zealand and other international students. I also had a taste of New Zealand's culture which is different from my own culture. "
