Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Being in a foreign country is not as intimidating as I originally thought. We are all still people and it is easy enough to communicate without knowing the language. That being said, my language skills skyrocketed. I am much more skilled than I was when I first arrived. I feel like I could have been leaps and bounds better, thou..."

"Saying the program was amazing is an understatement. It changed a lot of lives for the better. You learn a lot about yourself getting out of your comfort zone and exploring a new place, but it was also so familiar and homey. Brodie M Wellesley College
"I gained a newfound confidence in my ability to adapt to different situations, and also the savoir faire to navigate large cities. UCL pushed me out of my comfort zone in terms of it being such a large institution, but I was able to navigate the school without feeling lost or disconnected. It was very worth it, and I've decide..."

"Time management and independence. The UK system is very different than that in the States. You have to study by your own and plan a ahead, since there are no midterms and nearly no assignments in the first two semesters. "

"I gained so much from being abroad. Everything from new experiences and trying new foods, to really improving my proficiency in Spanish. Being abroad was very worthwhile. "Academic wise, I learned about local culture. Especially from taking an Archeology module that included field trips to local sites and castles. Though my program was 'study abroad' most of my studying came from experiencing things I would never be able to here in the U.S. 90% of what I learned came from the moments outside of th..."
