Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I participated in IAU's Marchutz School painting program, and found the experience extremely worthwhile. We painted in the landscape, participated in weekly seminars, and were taken on three field-study trips to better understand the surrounding artistic history and influence. We visited and painted in the same regions that Ceza..."

"I would only recommend this program to students who really understand the demands that will be asked of them. My courses were very thought-provoking and enjoyable, but they did consume the majority of my time abroad. Luckily, Cambridge has a very long spring break (4-5 weeks), when I was able to travel and have more of a traditi..."

Benjamin M Boston College
"Studying abroad at Queen's Belfast taught me so much about what divides and unites people in different areas, about myself, about finances, and about self-reliance. I was extremely impressed with the program, the people, and Belfast as a whole, and would immediately recommend the program. "

"It's a great way to learn to adapt. The university system is completely different in England and it was an adventure to learn how to deal with different circumstances. I would say any abroad program is worthwhile. You'll be put out of your comfort zone multiple times but at the end of it you'll be able to adapt to many things i..."

"Intellectual maturity was the biggest thing I gained from my year abroad. In addition, it has helped me figure my area of interest for grad school. I'd say it was definitely worthwhile. "

Alice L Wellesley College
"The best part was making friends from all over the world and learning from them. That aspect was definitely worthwhile, but the academic part was terrible."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"It was pretty isolated, but I really learned who I was outside of other people. It was pretty hard, but it was absolutely worth it. I'm really glad I went."
A student Drake University
"My experience at LMH was definitely worthwhile. Academically, I flourished, because a large amount of the work there is self-guided, but with weekly or bi-weekly meetings with tutors (either individually or in pairs) to review the work closely and provide advice and critique. Socially, I found it easy to make friends, because ..."

"The overall program was amazing, I'd do it all over again but I'd be smarter with my money. Don't buy much when you first get there just because you're excited, you have plenty of time to buy souvenirs before you leave. What I like about the program was that we were encouraged to travel."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"It was great to get a new perspective on my major and be able to live in an environment very different from Wellesley. I think I gained a new sense of independence and really benefitted from meeting many new people and traveling around New Zealand. The hiking around South Island is pretty accessible from Dunedin and made for man..."

"I greatly appreciated the culture here in Australia, and think it was worthwhile; however, the rigorous school schedule made it very difficult to be able to travel and experience the whole country. "

"It was my first time abroad and I was more than happy to have done it. Hanyang ISS offered such a diverse, fun, and educational opportunity for me. I immersed myself in the language and culture in a place I dreamed of going to. We took fun field trips, had an international party, and more. The courses were great too and I was mo..."

"I learned to be more independent and how to navigate a city. I learned how to cook my own meals, and how to help build community through cooking."
A student Wellesley College
"I definitely learn the importance of languages as I traveled around Europe and while living on an international campus. "
Thuly T Wellesley College
"My experience abroad bolstered my confidence in ways I never expected. I had to be completely self-reliant; I had to cook for myself, make my own travel arrangements, navigate a new city and culture, and be willing to ask questions. At home, I'm surrounded by family and friends in a familiar environment; I can easily lean on tho..."

"Completely different from American universities-much less rigorous, supportive"
A student Wellesley College
"Very worthwhile-- I learned a lot about independence, solo travel, and unexpected differences in dialects of the English language."
A student Wellesley College
"Who knew one month could be so short, yet could also be so experienced to the fullest?! Four weeks in Seoul didn't seem like much at first, but somehow, HISS managed to pack in a wide variety of field trips and events alongside enriching and engaging classes, and nurtured many new friendships with students from all over the worl..."

"I would definitely reccommend studying abroad, especially for the whole year if you are going to London. It is a place that is new but still comfortable, you won't want to leave. It was only by being there the entire year that I was able to truly start to make a life there, getting an internship in fashion (a dream come true), a..."
