|
Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Growing up in this generation as Americans we tend to live in our own little bubbles with little perspective on the world around us. Whether it be a town, a city, or an area such as New England we don't often look outside that little bubble. During my experience abroad I grew an understanding for how big the world around us real..."

"I realized that I am capable of so much. Whether it's booking a trip to Prague or ordering food in Spanish or figuring out the metro in Paris, I realized that with a little practice, I can do all of that. People constantly told me they were so amazed that I lived in another country for five months, but honestly, the hardest part..."

"It was definitely worthwhile. I loved living on my own, even though I lived with other study abroad students and international students. I loved the culture and the the city. I loved the energy on the weekends to go out and have fun. I loved visiting towns and places outside of Dublin. I enjoyed being in Ireland during holidays ..."

"Travel was the best part. I've heard that said a lot by others. Note that most people have a hard time the first two months. I didn't have a great time in Dublin and that's partially my fault...I didn't try as hard as I should've to make friends. But the education was bad, local students either don't care much or dislike you pre..."

"It was positively amazing.I learned that I am in control of my own happiness and that there is a whole world out there beside america. I dont have to necessarily live in America when I am older. There are so many different cultures that are different but amazing at the same time but at the end of the day so many people have had ..."

"Studying abroad here in Ireland has helped me gain a lot of cultural knowledge and history. Choosing to study abroad with American College Dublin has been the best decision. I made a lot of new friends and got to experience things that I wouldn't have gotten to otherwise. This trip has made me appreciate Ireland so much more. ..."

"I learned a lot about a very new academic environment, where the student is held to a high standard of academic curiosity and self-motivation. This independence given to students allowed me to explore my coursework on my own accord, as opposed to it being required. This helped me learn about my areas of interest and change my at..."

"I learned a lot from this program, it was definitely worthwhile. I learned largely to be independent and get around on my own. I had to find places on my own, use the bus system, manage money and largely cook my own food. I got to know students from all over the Caribbean as well as all over the world and get to see some of thei..."

"I gained a broader sense of what my place is in the world. I feel more open-minded, daring, and outgoing than I was before. It was even more worthwhile to study in Singapore because I chose to do so for an entire academic year. It felt less touristy, and more real. Now that I'm back, I can surely say that my year abroad has alte..."

"I went to Bulgaria knowing almost nothing about the country, culture, language, etc..... I had no idea what to expect. Even though there were some challenges with the administration and program details, I loved the freedom I had to explore the city. Veliko Tarnovo is absolutely beautiful and very affordable. I got to explore the..."

"Too much to list, but it was beyond worthwhile. Maybe I'm not supposed to say this on a school supported survey, but do not study abroad and spend all your time studying. That would be a horrific waste of such a great opportunity. Put yourself out there, meet new people, challenge yourself. Become stronger. Become more soci..."
