Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.
Study Abroad with Direct Enrollment/Exchange
"It was very worthwhile, I learned that I was able to adapt to a completely new situation and live in a place very different from my own. I learned that I can push myself to try and do new things and I gained the experience of a different culture and the cultures of places I traveled too. It wasn't easy and sometimes, especially ..."

"I gained practical theater/acting tools not offered at Wellesley that will help me in my future work."
Katherine S Wellesley College
"That's the main question that can be made. People used to say to me that you come back really different when you get to study abroad. I believe that, although I'm not sure about what aspect they talk about. It worth I'm sure of it. You learn that people are really similar, that there is plenty good people around the world, you l..."

"It was definitely worthwhile since it was something different. I learned a lot about the world and other people while going abroad, though it wasn't the lifechanging experience it is for some people. I think I would have tried to be more cognizant of my spending habits and also travel more (a paradox, I know)."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained a new level of self-sufficiency living alone in a major city by myself. Studying at a conservatory helped me grow as a performer while the many adventures I enjoyed have left me changed as a person. Absolutely worthwhile!"
A student Wellesley College
"I came to understand the meaning of life. 100% worth it, even if it costed 20x as much, I would still do it again."
Lefteri C The University of Texas at Austin
"It was worthwhile. My language skills increased dramatically and I met a number of wonderful people/saw all the wonderful things London has to offer. All in all, I was highly pleased with my abroad experience and would certainly elect to do it all over again if I had the chance."

"It was interesting to experience and learn about the unique Hong Kong culture. But I felt like I was wasting my time in classes because they were nothing compared to the college courses in the US"

A student University of the Pacific
"Talk with your fellow classmates about their art work and art-making process. The university made the point of reminding us that we are all rising professionals, and as such our opinions, thoughts, and dreams truly matter and will one day be a powerful force in moving the art world forward in our society. I learned just as much ..."
A student Middlebury College
"I would say that the world is a lot bigger than the Wellesley bubble. Although I knew that, it was an eye-opener when I actually went abroad and met different, amazing people. This gives you a chance to learn outside the classroom from people with different backgrounds, passions, and interests. You also learn a lot about yoursel..."

"The Israeli culture is very different from the American culture. People are a lot more upfront and this can come off as rude to some Americans. I became a lot more direct and confident in myself after being in Israel. I can also make quicker decisions now since in Israel you need to be quick to act and more aggressive, this is a..."

"Not having a job that provides a steady income flow puts a different perspective on everyday expenses. Budgeting is key! Making friends from all over the world gives you an excuse to travel later. Use those connections to your advantage. Ask them to house you, feed you, guide you, etc."
A student Clark University - Worcester
"It was great. The program was kind of bad but Thailand was amazing. I tell people that if I had attended the program and I was not in Thailand, I would not have had a good time. But Thailand was incredible and life changing and I did learn a lot in the program, just not necessarily in the classroom. "
