Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Learned a lot obviously (impossible to list it here) especially about cultures (e.g. Swedes don't look nice, but they are very nice), weather, transportation, and food (Swedes coffee/tea drinking habits "fika" is awesome, it's a great habit), I think. Something worth saying: befriend locals. It's very tempting to spend all your ..."

"It was very much worthwhile. I gained greatly improved spanish skills, incredible travel experiences, good friends, a great relationship with a host family, deep cross cultural experiences, and new understanding. Also gained more simplistic perspective of what one needs in life."

"Looking back, I'm not sure if I would have studied at St. Andrews for my Febmester. I think that I would have really enjoyed doing a backpacking trip in Asia or South America because I had spent time in Europe before doing my Febmester and it would have been great to try something different. I made some really great friends,..."

"I had th opportunity to practice my Arabic though I spoke a different dialect than Darija, the Moroccan dialect. I even managed to pick up a little French. "How to shop/cook for myself. So much in general about different types of people. Traveling to several different countries allowed me to take a look at other cultures, which in my eyes is one of the most worthwhile things you can do. "

"I learned how to work as an artist on my own. It was worthwhile but the school while offering the facilities did not give us much guidance or assistance in making use of them. The classes were not as thorough as my home institution. "

"It was worthwhile in that I gained a lot of life experience and independence, but I wish I had had a little more connection to the community. Perhaps it's because UCL is such a large institution, but I never really developed a sense of community with the students in my class or the department I was a part of, so I was less inves..."

"I didn't really care for the school academic policies in certain departments in UCL; but life in London was worth it. Also I learned and read a lot. Academics were great, just the policies were uptight and strange for me, as an american"

"Where do I start!? I met with officials from organizations ..."

"I really enjoyed my time during exchange. Brighton is a beautiful city and plenty to do! I have made friends from all over Europe, which I was not expected! There are at least 40% of international students in the UK at their universities so it is very hard to just "hang" with locals. I have learned the different teach styles and..."

"Not only did my language skills improve, but being a foreigner in China gave me a lot of opportunities to teach others about America. I was able to be a proud ambassador for the United States. "I have learned that there are people out there who still truly respect and care for people as a whole. Koreans have an inert bond between every other Korean that causes them to fight and strive for the best 100% of the time. I also learned that my family is very proud of me and that I really missed them when I was gone. I also m..."
