Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Yes, but if I were to do it again, I would choose a place the compatible with my learning style, which I do not believe the University of Leicester was. I think learning about a similar, but difference culture was nice. I did change my future plans, academically speaking, but that was a long time coming. Leicester was just the c..."

"Studying abroad was an amazing experience. I made many wonderful friends and gained a new perspective on the world and myself."
Michael S Providence College
"I gained an appreciation for the cultures outside of the U.S., an urge to experience more through travelling and the value of different perspectives that come with such experiences. "
Margaret M SUNY Purchase
"While it set me back at least a semester, I wouldn't trade my experience for anything. It was by far the most fulfilling time of my life, and I am so much more aware of the person I want to be after traveling so independently for so long. People who think they don't have enough time to study abroad are severely mistaken. We're o..."
Elin C The University of Texas at Austin
"My study abroad experience was amazing. I got to meet tons of people from all over the world. I also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Edinburgh. My favorite part about studying at University of Edinburgh is that I had free weekends to travel all around Europe. "
Lucy S Wellesley College
"I absolutely know my experience was worthwhile. I might have been poor for the last month I was there, but it was all worth it. I have come to understand and see that The United States is perceived in many ways. To some extent, I feel as though we are a little too involved in our own domestic issues to really notice what else i..."

"Honestly haven't not improved my French and spent more money than I'd like to for a lesser educational experience I wouldn't do it again. Sure I learned cultural things but frankly, what good does that do me? Paris is cool and all until you have to literally pay for it everyday. The school and city are both wildly overrated in m..."

"Studying in Paderborn was eye-opening for me. I had never lived away from home before. I learned a lot about myself and what it takes for me to succeed in both the academic and social arenas. My worldview was pretty narrow before I left, and my time in Paderborn broadened it so much. I now feel that I fit there much better than ..."

Katherine P Illinois State University

Michael G University of Texas - Arlington
"Yes, study abroad was worthwhile. Once I realized that it was my experience to have and I did not have to define it by anyone else's experiences, it was easier for me to enjoy the culture and my time in Sydney. Study abroad really is what you make of it. I tried as much as I could to fit into the culture and do the things that m..."

"My trip has opened my eyes to America's relationship with the rest of the world. How the way we live can be beneficial and detrimental to others. How similar I am to people who are so far away, and who lead such different lives than I. I also have a new found confidence that is un-destructible. The trip made me resilient to nega..."

Claire S Hamilton College
"A million times yes. I learned so much. I learned about different cultures. I learned so much about myself by being away from everything that I am familiar with. You make so many great friends that you will forever have in your life. "
Devyn D The University of Texas at Austin
"Absolutely. Best experience of my life. I loved learning about the Maori culture and being able to compare it to Hawaii's own Native Hawaiian culture."
Makana M University of Hawaii - Manoa
"I cannot begin to explain how much more "worldly" I feel after this experience. It may sound a bit ridiculous, but truly I feel significantly more cultured, discovered things about myself that I didn't know before, and lived in what was in many ways a dramatically different lifestyle than what I had lived my entire life. Not to ..."
Andrew C SUNY - College at Geneseo
"I have realized that Israel will always be a place in my heart and be a place that I will continue visiting and supporting for the rest of my life. I learned it is important to be more easygoing and not stress about little things."
