Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Kunming is a city that is changing quickly and may soon become as overdeveloped as many other Chinese cities, I suggest you enjoy its relatively peaceful atmosphere, blue skies, and fresh air while you can. I myself hope to spend more time there as a postgrad student looking for teaching or other work. The program certainly deep..."

"I did not know what to expect when going to study in the UK, but it was the best experience I have ever had. I gained a new appreciation and interest for international business, as well as the culture. I know that this program has positively changed my outlook and perspective on business."
Allison B Illinois State University
"I feel that this experience would have been better taken at an earlier year--such as freshmen year. I feel that I've already absorbed so much of the world that I wasn't able to appreciate Ireland as much as my class mates that joined me. I felt more of my interest was in the pagans era of Ireland. I spent most of the trip readin..."

"YES! I learned so much about myself and gained a huge sense of Independence If I can live abroad on my own I think I'll be okay here. I want to see so much more of Europe. Don't be surprised if you get a huge travel bug and don't want to come home... Home won't ever be the same again. "
Tricia B Illinois State University

"During the program I was able to visit locations that influenced my career path. In visiting different professional settings and listening to lectures on how Evidence Based Practice should be applied, I now have something to bring back to my campus. I can be a leader in the classroom and the professional world and emphasize th..."

Kelsey J Illinois State University
"Yes, my program was definitely worthwhile. I gained experience in a very different academic milieu, one that I enjoyed greatly. I plan to go back to the UK to pursue further education, because I have benefited from the more open environment that prevails in its institutions. Discussions were, in my opinion, of more value because..."

"This experiences allowed me the time I needed to relax and to think about the life that I am presently leading. Having time to think about who I am, who I want to be, meet great people, have fun and experience another part of the world was a great lesson on life. Being exposed to many different views has widened my horizons and ..."
Julia G University of Wisconsin - Stout
"Going to Europe changed my views on the American lifestyle, how wasteful we are."
Kaitlin H Illinois State University
"I loved my course instructors and learned more from my one month courses in drawing and photography than in semester equivalents at my home institution. I strongly recommend the courses for students who do not need rigidly structured course material and are more open to being more independent. My only complaint is that I found ..."

Kelly H Illinois State University
"Going on this trip solidified the notion that I would minor in French. However, the classes were so far from challenging that I didn't learn anything formally in the classroom. However, I learned so unbelievably much outside the classroom"
Sabrina N Illinois State University
"It was an amazing experience regardless of the program's shortcomings. I fell in love with the country and the people. I felt like a better version of myself when I was there and was more engaged with things I normally wouldn't have found interest in in America (ie. hiking, spontaneous explorations). While I committed to startin..."
