"I learned a great deal about Public Health in Brazil, as well as the culture from the region. It was completely worthwhile, because I was able to utilize my new knowledge base and conduct research in the area. "
Jacqueline S University of Denver
"It enriched my life and perspective with new cultural and personal experiences. It increased my global perspective and strayed away from a U.S. centric one. Also, on an emotional level, it forced me to grow as a person by making me take on challenges that I never would have thought I would be able to do. It was completely worthw..."
Nina P Occidental College
"It was worthwhile for sure. I learned so much about Kenyan culture as well as I learned a lot about myself."

"I learned a lot about myself, and what it was like to live in a European state that tries to keep itself aloof and separated from the rest of the continent."
John S Austin College
"I have learned about life lessons that you hear about in the classroom but experience firsthand and keep with you for life, including the love between family and the villages, how to appreciate what you have, how to give unconditionally, and so much more. It was completely worthwhile because some people can be tucked nicely away..."

"Social skills, confidence, adaptability, acceptance. It was probably one of the best decisions I've made in my life so far."
Yang T Wellesley College
"THe ability to really rely on myself and push myself to my limits. Stepping out of my comfort zone in the Pacific was one of the most beneficial things I could have done for myself. Living with 20 other students forced me to become even more patient and accepting of others who act and think differently than myself. My experience..."

"I had incredible cultural exposure and absolutely loved the topic and conversations I was able to have throughout. I gained a lot of confidence and a more global world view. I wouldn't have traded the experience for anything. I simply wish the staff for the program were more academic, supportive and organized. "
risa.rylander Austin College
"This experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned a tremendous amount about Moroccan lifestyle and culture, Islamic traditions and life as a practicing Muslim, and gained new, unequivocal skills as a traveler. I also made long-lasting friendships both with fellow Americans on my program and with local Moroccans. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Power and privilege was a big theme throughout the program. Being able to visit the national parks and live in Arusha as a student and a tourist gave me very different perspectives. It was a challenging experience but totally worthwhile. As a political science student I appreciated my time in Tanzania where I learned so much abo..."

"I learned so much about the European lifestyle, and I thought that I knew more than I did going into the program. Switzerland was much different than I expected. "
Emily W The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how another culture lives. I learned more about my personality by being stuck with the same 17 americans for most of the time. I practiced my Spanish and became conversationally fluent, which was my goal so yay! Definitely worthwhile because I chose the program carefully and it catered exaclty to my desires and inte..."

"I learned how to live up and do science research by myself in a foreign country. Most importantly, I was deeply touched and inspired by the professors here who cares about the environment deeply with their heart. To learn biology and conservation with these amazing people in Amazon and Galapagos? Of course it's so worthwhile!! "
A student Middlebury College

A student Wellesley College
"Going to the international organizations and speaking with experts in the field of international law was my favorite part. I feel like I learned so much about how Europeans view the US, which was extremely important to me. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned about the Chilean health care system and about traditional methods of medicine. My Spanish improved more than anything. I think the lessons I learned outside of the classroom were the most important. I learned about the importance of challenging myself and I learned about how to communicate in another language."
Zoe T Tulane University
"I feel so much more independent and self-sufficient. Also, my confidence in my language skills really shot up, as well as my hesitation in speaking it. "
Helen F Trinity University
"ABSOLUTELY WORTH WHILE! I learned so much through DOING and SEEING. Although the traditional academic setting (or traditional American academic setting) wasn't present, I was able to visit various UN organizations, the WHO, remote villages in North Africa (Morocco), etc. Every day was vastly different, yet enriching. I learned t..."

"I learned so much more of the language and the culture. I was able to see outside of the developed city of Buenos Aires and how others live, such as those in los campos. I also was able to learn about their government and the extreme sides of the political spectrum and beliefs down there. "
A student Providence College
"I learned about adjusting to new experiences and stepping out of my comfort zone."

"I gained more self confidence and independence. I also feel like I learned a unbelievable amount of information on rainforest, corals reefs and life in Australia. This program was 100% worthwhile."
A student Middlebury College
"I cannot fully describe what I learned in words. One must have to go on the program and experience it for themself to completely understand what I learned from my experience on this program.
