The Alamo Colleges are proactive on the issue of student safety in the United States and abroad. In order to ensure that students and faculty understand this priority and are prepared to act accordingly, the study abroad office holds mandatory orientation sessions for all study abroad participants. Students and faculty are also given a study abroad instruction manual which contains information specific to their role in the program. Both the student and faculty manuals contain information about arrival procedures, emergency protocols, financial responsibility, and health and safety. No study abroad participant is allowed to leave the United States without first attending orientation
