University Information
The Office of Study Abroad supports Brandeis students who participate on any of our 300 approved programs in some 65 different countries around the world.
On average 40% of the junior class studied abroad during the academic year while still more students took advantage of various international opportunities in the summer. There is a huge diversity of transformative experiences that Brandeis students have engaged in abroad including studying biodiversity conservation hands on in Panama, conducting ethnographic research on sacred figures in Mongolia, interning with Parliament in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and interning in special education classrooms in Sydney, Australia to name a few.
Whatever your story, journey or adventure is destined to be, come by our office to learn more about the steps to going away!
Additionally, by logging in to Abroad101, all approved programs will be tagged with an "Approved" badge.

"I learned a lot about going with the flow. It was hard as a bit of a control freak to come to the terms with the fact that most everything was not going to be 100% on my terms and that there was going to be some form of compromise involved. The friendships I made with fellow students on my program, laughing at these uncontrollab..."

"I really improved my general language skills and it was definitely worthwhile. I'm actually considering moving to Kyoto after graduation because I love the city and my homestay was so great. "I learned to be independent, gain confidence, and make mistakes. It was an environment where I got to make mistakes, both in speaking the language, navigate the culture, and with learning a new culture in general. It was 150% worthwhile"

"I learned how to be comfortable with the unknown. I was on a different continent, speaking another language, and living with people I did not know beforehand. It is quite difficult when you do not fully understand the language yet, but that is why you have to go in the first place. By the end of my six weeks, I gained newfound c..."

"I have a perspective of what it's like to live in another country with a different political system, university system, climate, environment, culture, etc. I think Americans think of the UK as being very similar to us.
