University Information
The Office of Study Abroad supports Brandeis students who participate on any of our 300 approved programs in some 65 different countries around the world.
On average 40% of the junior class studied abroad during the academic year while still more students took advantage of various international opportunities in the summer. There is a huge diversity of transformative experiences that Brandeis students have engaged in abroad including studying biodiversity conservation hands on in Panama, conducting ethnographic research on sacred figures in Mongolia, interning with Parliament in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and interning in special education classrooms in Sydney, Australia to name a few.
Whatever your story, journey or adventure is destined to be, come by our office to learn more about the steps to going away!
Additionally, by logging in to Abroad101, all approved programs will be tagged with an "Approved" badge.

"My language skills increased considerably, but I came out of the program exhausted. I felt like I didn't get the chance to travel/explore the Beijing area. In my opinion, 20+ chapters is too much to cram into 2 months. We covered and regurgitated an incredible amount of grammar and vocabulary, but I'm not sure I could use/rememb..."

"I honestly do not have enough words to articulate everything that I learned while abroad. It touched me on both a spiritual and individual level. I had to be alone in a country for 4 months and figure it out. I had to figure me out in order to survive. I use the word survive because instinctually as human beings, we respond to o..."

"I was able to learn about tolerance and opening my eyes to a different way of living where the social norms and standards were completely different from mine. "Going abroad was definitely worthwhile. Most of the experience i had to pay for myself, which made it more worthwhile to know i had earned my trip. Also the confidence i gained and knowledge to know i could get myself around on my own was invaluable. "

"Study abroad was an opportunity for me to meet new people, and add on another layer to my University experience. It was an opportunity that I was not going to miss; there are not many times in your life where you are offered a chance to go abroad to study. The best part about studying abroad was attempting to make such a foreign..."
