University Information
The Office of Study Abroad supports Brandeis students who participate on any of our 300 approved programs in some 65 different countries around the world.
On average 40% of the junior class studied abroad during the academic year while still more students took advantage of various international opportunities in the summer. There is a huge diversity of transformative experiences that Brandeis students have engaged in abroad including studying biodiversity conservation hands on in Panama, conducting ethnographic research on sacred figures in Mongolia, interning with Parliament in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and interning in special education classrooms in Sydney, Australia to name a few.
Whatever your story, journey or adventure is destined to be, come by our office to learn more about the steps to going away!
Additionally, by logging in to Abroad101, all approved programs will be tagged with an "Approved" badge.

"I learned a lot about the culture as well as becoming more independent "
Sydney S Brandeis University
"Yes it was worthwhile and I gained probably more than I know from this experience. I gained language proficiency, great friends, exploring a new culture, gained the confidence to get around in a foreign country with few language skills, traveling, and more than I can recall right now. I would go back to Brazil in a hearbeat. "

"I learned that I can live independently in a foreign country, and that I am more capable than I thought. I also fell in love with the city of London and it was the time of my life!"
A student Brandeis University
"My experience abroad was certainly worthwhile. Not only did I learn about myself but I also learnt a good amount about Australian culture. During my time abroad, I gained personal confidence from the validation that I received from my internship advisor and my boss. Moreover, I gained insight into the Australian workplace, and a..."

"Despite issues such as money and free time, I would consider my time abroad life altering. The general experience of learning to live in a foreign country is not something you can pass up. This is not dependent on a specific program, however. "
Andrew S Brandeis University
"I gained a lot of confidence and independence. "
Lylah S Brandeis University

"I learned that our American "freedoms" have profound effects on other's rights to be accepted and equals in society. One person's right to be different, "better", or an individual, impacts another person's ability to feel adequate as themselves."
A student Brandeis University
"Of course it was worthwhile, every decision we make it our lives is worthwhile because we learn from them... if someone regrets their decision or wishes they did something else, then they're blind to what they could have learned from their experience."
A student Brandeis University
"The best thing i've ever done."
