University Information
The Office of Study Abroad supports Brandeis students who participate on any of our 300 approved programs in some 65 different countries around the world.
On average 40% of the junior class studied abroad during the academic year while still more students took advantage of various international opportunities in the summer. There is a huge diversity of transformative experiences that Brandeis students have engaged in abroad including studying biodiversity conservation hands on in Panama, conducting ethnographic research on sacred figures in Mongolia, interning with Parliament in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and interning in special education classrooms in Sydney, Australia to name a few.
Whatever your story, journey or adventure is destined to be, come by our office to learn more about the steps to going away!
Additionally, by logging in to Abroad101, all approved programs will be tagged with an "Approved" badge.

"The short version is that, yes, it was definitely worthwhile! I loved my weekly practicum at a local school in classrooms of 6th and 9th graders. Since that particular school was one in an area heavily populated by non-ethnically Danish people (i.e. families with origins in such places as Turkey and Pakistan), I had a really..."

"I learned a lot about being independent and cultural differences. Managing my time was a growth. The experience was definitely worthwhile but very busy, stressful, and lonely. "

"This was not my first time living abroad, so it was not very daunting to me, other than the language barrier. I had always dreamed of studying in Paris because I loved the language, and the impressionist paintings. I was always hungry for wanting to see where all this beauty and inspiration came from. However, as a city I was so..."

"Of course I learned about Morocco: its history, culture, politics, food, language, etc. But I think what I gained most was socially/internally, both being in constant contact with the same 27 people for four months and with having to deal with constantly new experiences, whether in my daily commute to school, when hanging out wi..."

"Everyone who goes to Paris should learn about the stereo-typically French things like cheese, wine, art, food, etc. but the best lessons Paris has to offer lie beneath the glamorous surface. Recognizing that Paris is not just a post card, but a living, breathing city is not as apparent as one would assume. The lessons I learned ..."
