"I became much more independent from this time abroad. Spending a whole year away from home is a much different study abroad experience than most people will have; you truly feel like a part of the community while still holding on to your American roots. My German definitely improved, but I know if I would have made more of an ..."

"I learned to be more understanding of others, open minded, and just continued to expand my borders. It was definitely worthwhile. I know this exchange and internship experience will help my network, language skills, and future job prospects. Pieces of my reviews may have been a bit harsh, but that is just due to my high level..."

"It was worthwhile in that I traveled out of England as much as possible, which was relatively easy since it's so close to the continent. I learned that I really don't like living in England."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"People are just people no matter where you go, even living in a completely different culture I still felt like I could easily fit into this part of the world if I were to live here permanently. I saw so many beautiful landscapes and scenery that I will never forget. It was 100% worthwhile."

"I honestly loved it there. Comparing to Austin, it is such a lively city. You don't really need to drive because of their convenient subway system. And you could literally just walk out of your house, walk a block away and there would be restaurants lined up. No need to drive just to find food. "
Jennie P The University of Texas at Austin
"I made my best friend in another country."

"I learned patience and tolerance. Many people gave me their time and helped me when they didn't have too. I was an inconvenience to people but still they helped me. I will do the same for others. "
nicholas b The University of Texas at Austin
"It was definitely worthwhile. I went into the semester thinking I was going to love it and not want to come home. And that's exactly how I felt at the end. I gained so much more independence and confidence from my travels and studies that I feel a lot more prepared to enter the "real world" post graduation. I also learned how to..."

"I became more social and open and made lifelong friendships. I also traveled to countries that I had only dreamed about visiting! I had lived abroad before but it was completely different being alone in a student environment than with my parents. "The trip was one of if not the most important experience of my life. Beyond seeing new places, making new friends, and speaking a new language, I gained a new self-awareness during my time abroad.
