"It was the greatest year of my life, which I know is a cliche, but it's completely true. I made amazing friends, grew tremendously as a student, and it reinforced my desire to continue on my current career path. Oxford will teach you to become a different kind of student, and one that you really can't become at an American uni..."

"My experience was definitely worthwhile, though I felt a little shortchanged on the academic side; I'd have liked more focused teaching from the professors, and more discussion of the material rather than so much independent study; it almost felt as if we were required to do so much on our own time because the professors just di..."

With this program you can fall into speaking English with classmates, but you also have numerous opportunities to interact with locals (through programs offered by the Institute) and your host family. "I originally was hesitant about going abroad. I did not know if I would be able to due to the rigor of my major, and on top of that didn't know if I really wanted to be on the other side of the world for 5 months. "Yes. I saw amazing art, go to go to off-limit sites. Had amazing coffee and food and met some very interesting people who I am still friends with and have seen after the program ended. I gained a better understanding of Italian culture and their way of life. I can't really explain it to you, just go and you'll see what I mean."

"My experience in Melbourne changed my concept of quality of life. It made me realize the value of constantly exploring, appreciating the outdoors, and engaging in intercultural dialogue (which I had the opportunity to do every day given that I was the foreigner!) Studying abroad has impacted me so much, that I have devoted my ..."
