"The experience taught me how to fully be independent in everyday life and travel"
A student Wellesley College
"I gained more than I think I can realize in this moment. I gained a strong sense of who I am and what I want, I gained a strong sense of Japanese cultural values and knowledge (which are vastly different from the American/French values I originally held), and I got to experience cutting edge technological/social/agricultural met..."

"YES, lots of local knowledge and ES information."
A student Wellesley College
"Studying abroad allowed me to experience life in another country and city that was very different from what I'm accustomed to. I got to try a lot of new things and meet a lot of new people that I wouldn't have been able to try/meet if I didn't study abroad. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I grew a lot from the experienc..."
A student Wellesley College
"As someone who had a very limited knowledge of Cyprus before attending this program, I would say that this program is a hidden gem. Not only did I gain an amazing story to tell, I got to live in a country I most likely would have never visited. I also came home with a cat!"
Ruby M Wellesley College
"I learned how to be more independent and handle myself in uncomftorable situations. I would 100% do i again."

"This way first experience studying abroad in a country where I did not speak the native language. This experience gave me more confidence to break out of my shell and be okay with feeling awkward or uncomfortable. It was definitely worthwhile. "

A student Wellesley College
"I gained confidence in my Spanish and met amazing new friends. I also was given the time to reevaluate what is important to me and find the right balance for my life. Being able to thrive in a country with a different pace, culture, and language was incredibly rewarding for me and gave me motivation to continue getting out of my..."
A student Wellesley College
"I very quickly had to adapt to the pace of London, which took the development of many new habits and unlearning of old ones. Very importantly, I had to learn how to connect (and reconnect) with the people around me, whether that was in classes, in my dorm, or with complete strangers at random, I found the people I met to be the ..."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained new friends, new sights, new ways to make myself feel at home, love for travel and new perspectives about the world. Coming into the experience, I prioritized my academics, but while there were enriching academic experiences, there was also so much adventure and wondrous nature views abound. Definitely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"The first thing I learned was that I can travel away from my problems, haha. I learned that I need to do whatever I can do to (reach out to the Care Team, friends, family) to get out my discouragement and reach my goals for studying abroad."
A student Wellesley College
"Although there is no foreign language involved, the whole living and academic environment is completely different. It would be totally worth it to spend a semester or even a year experiencing it."

Vivi J Wellesley College
"I learned how to live on my own, take care of my own administrative tasks, and find fun things to do while being pretty alone most of the time. I did get an internship in international affairs in Europe for the summer, partially because the organization I applied to was familiar with IHEID. So that was a big plus. Lastly, I had ..."
A student Wellesley College
"Academically, I learned a lot about linguistics in French and the varieties of French, which was pretty interesting. I also was able to learn more of the colloquial French expressions, which were definitely more useful in talking in French than the literary analysis I was used to doing for my usual French classes. I was also abl..."
A student Wellesley College
"becoming more independent meeting people from the UK and local students"
A student Wellesley College
"I think the main thing I learned was resilience. I was (unknowingly) struggling with mono during my entire four months, but still had an experience of a lifetime. It was definitely worthwhile as I have since returned to Manchester to visit someone for a month, and plan to return again within the year. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned about being independent, mature, and how to communicate with a language barrier. "
A student Wellesley College
"Although I experienced a lot of inconveniences in Geneva, from the housing administration to the Cantonal Population and Migration Office, the program gave me exposure to international organizations and development studies, which I otherwise would not have received. I also learned how to live independently. "
