"I improved my language skills significantly, learned how to adapt to a different living situation and be more understanding of cultural differences, and learned more about the French way of life."
A student Wellesley College
"The main thing I have learned is to not take life seriously. It was worthwhile. "
Edem Kudzi Wellesley College
"Experiencing a different academic system (the tutorial system) was worthwhile."

"I learned to navigate a foreign country whilst speaking a foreign language. To add on to that, I learned how to express myself and find myself in a language that I was not comfortable in"
Sophia Eakins Wellesley College
"I learned how to live in a huge, international city. I learned how to get through a very tough situation while alone. I learned a lot about myself, like that I shouldn't move to a foreign country where I don't know a single person. These are worthwhile lessons, but at a steep cost."
A student Wellesley College
"During my study abroad year, I was able to immerse in the new culture and make many new friends, with whom I was able to make valuable memories. I really liked living in the city of Oxford where I not only enjoyed working in many different libraries and visiting museums but also simply walking around and exploring the city. In t..."

"I improved my Japanese skills a lot through this program and was able to learn about the local culture and environment through my work as an intern and my experience joining a school organization. I also became much more independent and now feel comfortable supporting myself in a foreign environment."
A student Wellesley College
"My language proficiency improved immensely and I had a wonderful time getting to know Paris, making friends, and getting a much needed break from campus."
A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile for me to go abroad because it allowed me the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture and force myself to learn the language to the best of my ability. My biggest takeaway from studying abroad with CUPA was my newfound appreciation for Wellesley and its reliability, engaging faculty, and engaging courses..."
A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile. I learned a lot about how to live in a city (from a rural/suburban area). I gained some really close friends, although they are mostly American. I was able to travel a bit which I had not been able to do before studying abroad. I also learned how to take my education into my own hands."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained close friends with whom I have/will stay in contact and incredible memories of the best experiences.England has to offer. "
A student Wellesley College
"I gained confidence in myself and my abilities, learned more about what I want from a future career, learned about other cultures and perspectives, and it was incredibly worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile! I got to explore different subjects while going more specific into my own major. I also had the luck of a long spring break (6 weeks -- an Oxford privilege!) so it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance for me to go travelling around Europe. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned what I was capable of in terms of independence and dealing with major problems without having knowledge of a country or language. I had to go to the hospital in Switzerland where they spoke only French, I had to navigate transportation in Hungary and Slovakia and Denmark, etc. countries where I didn't speak the languag..."

"In my year away, I became a stronger analytical thinker and critical writer. I gained a lot of confidence in my writing skills as well. Beyond the academic, I definitely became a lot more independent as a person and comfortable being in situations I'm unfamiliar with. Though I didn't end up bonding with many local students, I ne..."
A student Wellesley College
"Definitely worthwhile. It was a great opportunity to learn and travel while also taking a break from college."
Adrianna Tan Wellesley College
"I gained a different learning module and a different thinking process"
A student Wellesley College
"The biggest thing I learned was how to manage my time. Because assignments are given in supervision and lectures are optional, there is a lot of time on one's hands. So it's really up to the individual to figure out when to do the assigned readings/essays. "
Courtney O Wellesley College
"This experience was so worthwhile. It was a nice break from the rigor and competitiveness of Wellesley. I was quite literally never stressed out and I got a new perspective on Wells making it easier to come back and finish my senior year. "
Anon Wellesley College
"My Spanish speaking skills improved"
Cassandra Cronin Wellesley College
"I learned the most when I was traveling, but not all students will have the privilege to do this, so for the general middle or lower class student population, I do not think that this program in particular is worthwhile. There was also hardly any support system for students of low income status. Everyone seemed to just assume th..."

"I made some of the best friends I've ever had while living abroad. I fell in love with a wonderful girl and I had some of my best days in my life so far. I got to explore a truly incredible and jaw-droppingly beautiful country, and the experience of living in Dublin is one that is so amazing that I will never be able to wholly d..."

"Becoming better acquainted with Danish culture was definitely worthwhile; understanding some of the issues in modern Danish society gave me a better appreciation for the United States and other countries I had previously visited. At the same time, I'm appreciative of the opportunity to have learned about Danish culture, understo..."
