"I gained a lot of knowledge about the culture in Japan, of course, as well as what I learned in classes, but more than that I learned a lot about myself. I lived a lifestyle here that I'd never had the opportunity or even desire to do ever before, where I spent more time talking to people and making connections than doing anythi..."

"I loved learning about Scottish culture through tasting local cuisine, experiencing ceildh dancing, and meeting friends at school. It was definitely worthwhile"
Jocelyn Wellesley College
"I learned a lot because I put in the work. Nothing in London was easy and felt no support from UCL or my home college. "
Grace Hellstrom Wellesley College
"It was worth studying abroad in Berlin. I learned about diversity by meeting various students and other people from Europe, Asia, Middle East, etc. "

"I learned a lot of Italian and felt really immersed & at home in the city by May. Although there were downsides I was overall very happy with my experience."
A student Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile! I appreciated the diversity of both London and LSE as it was a stark contrast from Wellesley (both the town and the university)"
Ilina Mitra Wellesley College
"As someone who has been an international student for half of her life and so is pretty good at adapting to new environments and culture, I had less of a culture shock and homesickness than what is expected. That being said, Granada was different, new, exciting, and familiar by the end. You're in a way less-stressful environment ..."
A student Wellesley College
"Definitely learned a lot just about globalization and colonialism simply from being in Senegal and that is incredibly valuable. Gained new friends and another family, and definitely improved my language skills (Wolof was a lot easier than I thought, and my French oral skills definitely got better)"
A student Wellesley College
"I gained a sense of perspective about my home institution, both in terms of it's relative size, and relative rigor. I learned about Irish politics and concerns among Irish university students, about social movements happening in Ireland right now, and what Guiness should actually taste like. I gained a better sense of myself and..."
A student Wellesley College
"Absolutely. Gained a ton of independence, some fantastic friends (mostly the other exchange students), and experiences I will remember forever. Oxford is amazing - my friends and I enjoyed doing the classic activities like punting and attending formal halls, and just walking around the town is breathtaking. The chance to be in E..."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to roll with the punches and how to survive living alone. Though I spend a lot of time working on class assignments and really put in a lot of effort in that area, I feel like I didn't really learn much. I learned how to budget my money and how to plan successful trips. I learned how to travel alone and to feel saf..."

A student Wellesley College

Gabriella Vesey Wellesley College
"Yes! It was good to take a break from Wellesley's academic environment and jump headfirst into the world of art. 24/7 art all the time. I can now do body rolls and a cartwheel when I stretch beforehand which is fun."
Diana Lobontiu Wellesley College
"The experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot, especially how to move to a new country and establish a life there. "
A student Wellesley College
"I had a great time in Edinburgh. I liked that I could direct enroll and go to a new place to study for awhile while getting credits towards my degree. It's a really valuable experience being somewhere new and having to move out of your comfort zone to meet new people and establish your little life there. "
Wellesley S Wellesley College
"Overall a good experience."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained a greater self confidence living and traveling by myself, especially in places where I don't speak the language. I really enjoyed getting to spend time just wandering in Edinburgh, and in other cities I visited. I learned how to adapt to new environments."
