"This program was absolutely worthwhile and provided me with opportunities and experiences that I could not have otherwise accessed."

"I have always had a passion for traveling, and this was the perfect opportunity for me to be based someplace really cool with a lot of things going on, but also the perfect gateway to the rest of Europe. I feel like I learned a lot about myself while I was there, and was given the time to do so. The Dutch's school system is diff..."

"I gained much more travel experience; I was able to visit countries that I don't think I would otherwise ever get to see. I learned a lot more Spanish, and a lot more about Spanish culture as well. It's one thing to read about Spain and speak Spanish in class, it's another to experience it firsthand. "
A student Wellesley College
"I gained not only language skills, but confidence in myself and independence. I really pushed the boundaries of what I was comfortable with, and now I feel empowered to pursue all sorts of opportunities I may not have considered before. It was completely worthwhile. "
Madeleine S Wellesley College
"It was a different focus on public health that I didn't have. I do not think it is as worthwhile as I wish it could have been."
Idalmis V Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about myself as I lived (alone) in a new culture and made new friends. I totally recommend long-term immersion in another culture, its hard and terrifying but totally worth it."
Leah F Wellesley College
"I truly learned a lot about myself and what makes me happy. It may not have been the most amazing three months of my life but I would say it changed me for the better."
Catherine E B Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about myself and my relationships with other people -- what I want from relationships, the way I interact. I became much more self aware. "
Caroline B Wellesley College

"I learned about foreign languages/cultures/customs, as well as learned a lot about myself. It was certainly worthwhile."
Gillian D B Wellesley College
"I learned that knowing English is a privilege and sometimes even being American is a privilege. English is everywhere. White people are loved everywhere. Brown and black people tend to be ignored. Sure, I guess."
Arianne W Wellesley College
"It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life."
A student Wellesley College
"Peru is an incredible country and I'm glad that I got to spend time exploring and learning more about the people, culture, and ecosystems of Peru. However, SFS Peru, for me, was too focused on hard science and academics, but not focused enough on actual cultural integration. "
A student Wellesley College
"YES. I have learned more about myself, about integrating myself into other cultures, about Spanish, and about Chile than I could have imagined. So many opportunities for future projects have also opened up here. "

"I can speak Arabic now, and I could not at all at the beginning. Definitely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned that I can travel alone. That being in a space where I do not know the language is difficult and beautiful at the same time. That friends can be found in wonderful spaces. Money is well spent on a good time and that being away from Wellesley was exactly what I needed in order to make it through. It was completely worth..."

"I learned a lot about French literature and authors that I enjoy reading. This experience was worthwhile but I did not get as much appreciation for the French culture out of it as I had expected."
A student Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I feel more independent and mature for having navigated a foreign country for 5 months. "
fiona.boyd Wellesley College
"I think I gained a lot of maturity while I was abroad. I really got a chance to explore myself away from the pressures of my parents and him university and really began to grow into the person I would like to become later on in my life."
Nicole D Wellesley College
"I really enjoyed the program. Freiburg is a great place. You will learn so much about German culture - it's a great immersion experience. Although in order to enhance your German, you must take the personal initiative and practice with locals. Classes were not difficult, but the course material was very interesting. Traveli..."

"I learned how to adapt to a new environment and a new way of learning. "
Abby E Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile - I learnt to take things as they come "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned that I do indeed like classical studies! Be warned: this is not for the student who wants to see modern Italy and who only has a passing interest in classics. This is like classics boot camp. Some days you will be out for 8-10 hours, climbing over rocks and taking notes in the pouring rain. That said, I'd do it again i..."

"I really really really loved London it was such a great city filled with amazing people and things to do. I did not really like my experience at UCL, I wish I had chosen a different university. The classes were a bit too heavy/boring in my department and a lot of classes at too many American study abroad students. "
