I learned that I can be independent and it is okay to go out and do something that makes you nervous. Everything I did was worthwhile. Taylor Gardner - Middlebury College View Entire Review

The experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot about Greece, but I also learned about being independent. I feel as though I gained more confidence in myself and the ability to communicate with those from another culture who may speak another language Jen W - Middlebury College View Entire Review

Most definitely. I traveled, went to tons of museums, met Greeks, ate a lot of great food, cooked a lot of great food. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if I could. I learned that I am capable of just about anything and adjusting to anything, as well. Emily B - Trinity University View Entire Review
It was worthwhile to be so immersed in one culture for a longer period of time. The experience made me more open as a person, and I now feel connected to a culture on the other side of the world, which I feel is valuable. Abby W - Drake University View Entire Review

It was worth everything. I learned so much from when I went but its one of those things that cannot be described because it is what you make of it. No one person can have the same type of experience I had. Margaret Brooke B - University of Arkansas - Fayetteville View Entire Review
About
This program will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and experience the full mosaic of Greek culture. Become an active participant in the Greek community and learn about this complex country through experience - from its prominent international position at the forefront of global issues such as migration and economic change, to its rich cultural and historic contributions to society.
Experience life as a Greek - new perspectives, cultural insight, community life, the realities of migration, local and global economic debate and of course, survival Greek language. You’ll enjoy mixing academic learning with experiential learning in the streets and neighborhoods of Athens. You are free to choose your four additional courses from our varied liberal arts offerings such as art history, modern political economy, journalism, literature and history. Students interested in Classics often pursue the archaeology, philosophy, and Ancient Greek course options.
