What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned camera techniques and how to get along better with kids my age, both things I'm so glad to get a great chance to work on.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It was easy enough that I didn't intensely struggle but provided enough of a challenge for me to put effort into it.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

There was only one place where it wasn't as nice, but everything else was really good!

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We visited a few culture-rich places but otherwise it didn't incorporate as much as I thought it might've.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Everything was paid for but if you wanted extra snacks (like we did) you'd need some money for that.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Section out your money per week or per couple of days so that way you don't accidentally overspend.

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Getting to see new places
  • An environment that was very conducive of photography
  • Meeting new people
* What could be improved?
  • Perhaps a more detailed itinerary?
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? How great of a time I was going to have. I was nervous for how I'd get along with people and so I wasn't super motivated in the early stages of preparation but if I had known I was going to have an amazing time I'm sure I wouldn't have.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
