Chile is a South American country occupying a long, narrow strip of land between the Andes to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The relatively small Central Valley, which includes Santiago, dominates the country in terms of population and agricultural resources. Find out what it is like to live as a Chilean teenager while living with a host family and attending a local public high school. Basic Spanish language ability is required and an optional language course is offered for students with less Spanish ability.

Program Details:

  • 10, 5, or 3 month program starts in either March or July

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 17

  • 2 years of high school Spanish recommended, but not required

  • 2 week intensive language course available for those with less Spanish experience

  • School year starts in March

  • Placed with volunteer host family

Application Deadlines: 11/1 for March, 4/1 for July
