Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I felt that the program director was unapproachable. Also I felt that if I had a problem it would be better dealt with on my own instead of going to the faculty or staff.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I was matched nicely with my host family. And was made very at home. My host family helped me in both my language skills as well as cultural education.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I would highly advise in taking advantage of a home-stay option as it provided me with social interactions, language opportunities, and better understanding of the culture.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Amman, Jordan is a vary safe place. I never felt uncomfortable or threatened. This program also provided a limited insurance police and hospitals were not that expensive. Be advised though, due to import taxes things like medicine, contact supplies, and basic hygiene items are expensive.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

It was necessary to speak the host countries language to do just about anything. Also members of my host family did not speak English.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
