It was absolutely worthwhile. I learned that I am more capable of being independent than I thought. I discovered the things that are necessary to surviving in a foreign place and learned tips and tricks to quickly becoming acclimated to a new area and culture. Over the course of my time abroad, I learned so much that I didn't even expect to touch on. The biggest thing I gained was personal growth. I expected to only improve myself in terms of language skills and new friends, but I ended up learning so much about who I am as a person and who I want to be in the future. Being in Seoul w... I think my time abroad could be described as a "vacation" that I needed. It gave me time away from others (family and friends) to understand myself and to see where I stand at this moment in life. I gained a lot from one semester abroad and there were multiple times where I contemplated staying a bit longer. Of course, there are... wymooi - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I learned a lot about Korean culture and especially university culture. I also learned to appreciate and understand the cultural differences between Americans and Koreans. It was worthwhile because I learned a lot of skills to succeed in intercultural settings. Chloe J - Fordham University View Entire Review

Personal growth, friendships from around the world, cultural experience, everything. You can't put enough words to describe this experience. It was definitely worthwhile. I wish Bentley made an effort to promote these non-traditional programs to the student body because it really is more rewarding than I ever thought it would be... Absolutely. I feel more confident traveling on my own and functioning as an individual in a foreign setting. I am now much more interested in Asia in general than I was before, and am left with a strong desire to learn more Korean. Emily L - Truman State University View Entire Review

Of course! I am still processing everything, so I don't really know what I have learned about myself through this experience yet, but I definitely now have a more in-depth understanding of Korean culture, Korean history, Korean politics, and just the psyche of the Korean people. I understand why the people do what they do or bel... Christine L - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I learned about the Korean cultures, such as the youth culture, the cafe culture, the couple culture, the drinking culture, etc. There are various colorful components within the Korean cultures, and it was amazing to see things from a different cultural background. I feel like anyone who visits and lives in a foreign country will tell you that their experiences are well worthwhile; it's hard to even express how my experience has impacted my life. I learned how it felt like to be an outsider and a minority, and be a different sort of member in a different sort of society. I discovered some ... The experience was an eye opener for so many aspects of my life. I ended up questioning a lot of the things I saw and also a lot of things that I did. Moving outside of the American bubble into a country that is unlike it in so many ways is like an out of body experience. A student - Brandeis University View Entire Review

I felt very lucky to have made the friends that I made while I was in Korea. I met people from all around the world and significantly improved my language ability. Having spent a semester in Korea I'm even considering working there for a little while after I graduate. Jiyeon L - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
Although I didn't give all of above the best ratings, but the overall experience was definitely worth the 5 star. I had the time of my life, not just learning language and culture, but also making friends and spending memorable times with them. It's an unique experience that you won't have at your home country.
