I learned to be independent and how to manage my money more carefully. I also gained confidence in my Italian speaking skills. It was very worthwhile! - University of Bologna View Entire Review
the importance of making and keeping friends, that racism is global, that the us is not perfect in terms of gender equality but some places are far worse, how to have friends who were politically the opposite of me, YES - Wellesley College View Entire Review
yes i gained so much insight on other cultures, other people, and myself. It was absolutely worthwhile. I recommend studying abroad to everybody ever. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I became a more independent person and am learning how to travel. I enjoyed italy and seeing every aspect of it and I think a year is a the right amount. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review Bella Bologna
I am so glad to have had the opportunity to put my home institution on hold for a semester, and what's more, to have chosen to be in Bologna, on a really great program. It was SUCH a positive experience for me, because of everything from the city to the program to the Americans I became so close to. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was very worthwhile - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My Italian language skills have improved so much. Additionally I learned a lot about Italian culture that I didn't know before - especially from Italian friends. In the future I hope to return to Italy and perhaps work there for a couple of years. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Yes - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My study abroad experience was incredibly worthwhile and wouldn't trade that year for anything. I learned how to be more outgoing, to make mistakes (when learning a new language it is bound to happen), how to cook, and how to be my own best friend. The year was incredibly inspiring and I can't wait to travel again! - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Definitely worthwhile. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review
It was the most worthwhile experience of my College career. I understand myself in more ways than I did before, both positive and negative aspects, but I have found a sort of inner peace from all of the traveling that I've done. I feel more at ease with myself. - Barnard College View Entire Review
I think more than anything I learned academically (who knows if I'll use italian after graduation), I learned how to be self-sufficient. I was removed from family, a familiar setting, and friends. I learned how to be a better communicator (in italian and in general), provide for myself (cooking/cleaning), and I made it through t... - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review Challenging
I learned how to be independent, shop for myself, cook for myself, navigate a foreign country and adapt. It was worthwhile to learn so much. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review Bologna Is Tasty
I can speak Italian now (sort of/kind of). I loved being able to be independent and free to wander Europe--it's an amazing privilege that you better take advantage of! No matter where you go and what your experience was (positive or negative), I think the experience of living abroad is always worthwhile. - Tufts University View Entire Review
everything. of course. - Barnard College View Entire Review
I'm still studying abroad right now, but, overall, I would say I have learned invaluable lessons about living far away from home, of surviving in a foreign country with people speaking a foreign language. I believe I have grown as a person and have understood what I truly need in life. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My experience was more than worthwhile. And, because my closest friends happened to also be natives, I left Italy with an impressive knowledge and understanding of the language after arriving in Italy unsure and unconfident in my language skills. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Definitely! Increased cultural awareness, learned a second language, made great friends, unforgettable memories, learned classes through a completely different perspective than I am used to , traveled around Europe by myself, and hope to return in the near future. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review Ecco Bologna
I wouldn't change my study abroad experience for the world. It has made me a more open-minded person all the while making me realize that even in a country such as Italy which has been turned into a fantasy-land for many Americans, many problems exist making it a very complex and beautiful country. I have changed my future caree... - Wellesley College View Entire Review

yes. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
So worthwhile. Changed my life. I'd never been to Europe and have now been to 8 countries, and lived for an entire year in one of them. I've had a career path opened up that I'm not even sure I'll pursue, but I never want to lose my Italian or my Italian friends now that I've had such an incredible experience. Offered me the cha... - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review
Yes. I gained significant oral language skills, although I find my grammar to be a little lacking. Because I stayed a full year, I've practically fulfilled all the requirements for a secondary Italian major, so I'll be adding that to my first and thereby becoming a double major. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review
My study abroad experience was certainly worthwhile in exposing/teaching me about Italian society and culture, and improving my language skills. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
