IES Abroad: Dublin Direct Enrollment - National Theatre School of Ireland-Gaiety School of Acting

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The conservatory style of the Gaiety School of acting was incredible, I learned so much in just a few short months. I gained so many friends and our friendship will last a life time. I feel like this experience made me independent and really showed me what I could do on my own. It was life changing and really worthwhile.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

In my opinion,one of the best theatre schools in the world.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The IES Aborad Dublin Staff are so knowledgeable and helpful!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My Living arrangements were very cramped and a 45 minute walk away from where I was studying. But once We got used to it, it was alright.

* Food:

This is kinda of N/A because I lived in my own housing and cooked my own food. But the restaurants near by are great.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Because I was going to school with Irish Students I became very immersed into the culture. I was always out doing fun things with my Irish friends.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Dublin definitely felt like on of the safest cities in the worlds and all housing was in D4, the safest area code in Dublin

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Probably $100-$150 each week.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Shopping at Aldi for your food is probably your least expensive bet. Try to only go out to the Pubs once a week and not order too many pints. 5 euros a pint can really add up.
