Regained a lot of confidence in academic abilities. Learned to write at least a little faster. Made terrific friends I will keep for the rest of my life.

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Academic or LinguistYou went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you! |
Individual Course Reviews
Course Name/Rating: |
Jane Austen |
Course Department: | ENGL |
Instructor: | Octavia Cox |
Instruction Language: | English |
Comments: | Best possible introduction to Jane Austen! The professor knew everything about Austen and her novels and it was a pleasure to explore her works for the first time in this tutorial. Rigorous and challenging but nothing unrealistic. |

Independent Research Course |

Comments: | I think I wrote something better in these four weeks than I did for either of my theses back at Middlebury. That being said four weeks was not enough to both master a previously unstudied topic (as the program requests you choose!) and come up with something actually meaningful to say. This should be a five weeks class at the very least. |

Course Name/Rating: |
Hebrew Bible Studies |
Course Department: | RELI |
Instructor: | John Jarick |

Comments: | I felt so lucky to study these unfamiliar topics with an expert. The course was great and I felt like I could follow my interests. |

Shakespeare I: Shakespeare in the 1590s |
Course Department: | ENGL |
Instructor: | |
Instruction Language: | |
Comments: | This was a great class. Learned so much about Shakespeare and the professor brought really interesting perspectives for discussion. But the expectations for the final paper were rather unclear--I don't think the instructor and the second grader were on the same page. |
