About

Morehouse Pan-African Global Experience programs are designed to allow you to experience contemporary cultures of African heritage shaped by different geo-political settings in a global world. "Pan" means "across." It is an opportunity to see across African diversity to what may be common – cultures and beliefs passed down from generation to generation, across seas and despite hardships. The "Pan-African" outlook is characterized by the vision of people of African heritage coming together to rediscover this civilization's unique historic characteristics and to bring about a renaissance. Can Africa and the global African Diaspora come together to once again create a legacy of contributions to solving global human and ecological challenges, as Africa did in the past? Currently, MPAGE offers cross-cultural experiences for youth from the U.S. and Africa (Ghana and Burkina Faso).

MPAGE grew out of our partnership with the G.E.N.E.S.I.S. Project (Growing Energy and Nutrition for Environmental Stability and Investments in Societies) of the North Scale Education and Research Institute.  It is sponsored by the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, and supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
