I learned about Thai culture, politics, history, education, and ecology. I gained a better understanding of how cultures vary in subtle yet important ways.

The program was absolutely everything I wanted out of it! I saw a beautiful environment, interacted with elephants, practiced teaching English as a second language, experienced unfamiliar cultures, and learned a lot!

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you want to save money, don't buy souvenirs. I could have gotten away with spending less than 1000 baht with this program, but I spent a few hundred dollars on souvenirs.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? The Thai people appreciated when I put effort into pronunciation and following cultural norms. You will make people very happy if you show that you are making effort!

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
