A RESEARCH institute was launched yesterday to provide snappy solutions to urgent problems policy-makers may encounter in Shanghai’s pilot free trade zone. The Free Trade Zone Institute at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics includes experts in public policy, marketing, finance and law. Officials said it will serve as a think-tank for the 28-square-kilometer zone in the Pudong New Area that opened at the end of last month. The zone is an experiment of exploring new methods and innovative systems for reforming China’s economy.
