Oh my god-- SIT Australia: Sustainability and Environmental Action did not disappoint. I came to this program weary, burnt out, and cynical about our individual ability to make meaningful change in the face of climate change, rising threat of fascism, deepening social inequality, etc. This program reconnected me to just how good... It was very worthwhile. I gained a new perspective on the United States as well as gained a great wealth of knowledge in the area of study. I also gained great tools to use in my studies and further career in environmental studies. Max M - Hamilton College View Entire Review

I learned a lot about Australian history and culture. The program focused on environmental action and was very personal and encouraging. Unfortunately, being an environmental studies major, I didn't feel like I was learning a lot of new information. The independent research project was challenging and empowering. Australia is very similar to the United States. There is still materialism, consumerism, capitalist markets and so on. Their histories are very similar also, with the English exploring the land, chasing off or socially integrating the Indigenous, as well as changing the landscape. So by learning more about the way Australia came... Katelyn S - Austin College View Entire Review

I grew as an individual. People from the program was different from my friends I have at school and I had to adapt. Studying abroad in Australia, especially with this program was so worthwhile. I have memories from my group that I will treasure until the day I die and the personal changes are forever. A student - University of Maine - Orono View Entire Review
I loved my time abroad, I made amazing life long friends on the program, developed my passion for environmental work, learned a lot about myself and what I want to do with my future, saw some beautiful places, and got to live on the beach for a month. I loved learning about sustainability, I loved Australia, I loved our group. It was a risk for me doing this program because I was an art major with only one previous environmental science class (I am now majoring in both art and environmental science), not particularly interested in camping, but I wanted something different out... The academic content covered in the program was not quite what I was expecting or hoping for but what I learned from our outings and from talking to people made the trip worthwhile. Elizabeth F - Wellesley College View Entire Review
