With flexible durations ranging from 3, 4, 6, to 8 weeks, you can tailor the in-country experience to fit your specific schedule and academic needs.

Academics & Impact:

  • Customized Placements: Internships are individually tailored in sectors like Sustainable Development, Conservation, Healthcare, Education, and more, providing valuable, real-world work experience.
  • Intensive Hours: Complete up to 90+ structured internship hours (based on a 4-week duration) with a dedicated host organization, supervised by local professionals.
  • Intercultural Development: Participate in our Intercultural Learning Co-Curriculum (ILC) to deepen your global competency and learn how to effectively navigate a new professional and cultural environment.
  • Portfolio Building: Gain tangible deliverables and quantifiable experience to strengthen applications for graduate school or full-time employment.
Experience & Logistics (4-Week Example)

  • Duration Flexibility: Choose from 3, 4, 6, or 8 weeks in-country.
  • Example Dates (4-Week): Students typically arrive on June 10, 2026, and depart on July 8, 2026.
  • Deep Immersion: Experience life in a local community through a Homestay Accommodation period, fully immersing yourself in Belizean culture.

2025 Summer Raffle: Win a Scholarship!

To celebrate the launch of our 2025 summer programs, Toucan Education Programs is hosting a scholarship raffle! Students who successfully apply and are admitted to any of our Summer Field Intensive or other experiential programs by January 31, 2025, will automatically be entered into the raffle for a chance to win a scholarship towards their program tuition.
