University of Louisiana at Lafayette: Costa Rica - Study Abroad in Costa Rica

This Summer Intersession Study Abroad Program is a 10-day program, but there will be mandated class meetings on campus prior to departure. The first 6 days of the program will be spent in the capitol city of San José. Through a series of lectures and business visits, students will become familiar with the role of socially, culturally, environmentally, and economically sustainable business practices particularly within emerging markets. Possible visits include the INTEL Chip manufacturing facility, CAFÉ Britt (Coffee), Boston Scientific Costa Rica, Puntarenas (the largest port in Costa Rica), and the Taboga Sugar Estate. Additional visits may include INCAE, the top business school in Costa Rica for a lecture on Economic and Environmental Sustainability. The remaining part of the program will be spent at the Barcelo Langosta Resort, an all-inclusive resort on the Pacific Coast.
