Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The experiential component (i.e. corporate tours and cultural visits) opened the life within Hong Kong and Shenzhen. This supplemented the academic requirements to outline the historical and current context of China.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program administrators were diligent of every detail and are well knowledgeable to address formal and informal questions about China.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The accommodations in Hong Kong were great. The rooms were well kept. They were small, unlike living accommodations in the Southwest. Accommodations in Shenzhen were hospitable though there were some quality control aspects that were overlooked on behalf of the hotel.

* Food:

I enjoyed the local cuisine! Stay away from American fast food while you're there!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I did feel welcomed in China. The people were friendly and helpful. I did not have a frustrating encounter; with those who did not speak English, I did appreciate their patience with me.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

No exposure to healthcare services to give proper opinion.

* Safety:

It is always best to stay in groups. There was an adequate presence of law enforcement and a stable rule of law.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

The program was well thought out hour-by-hour and gave an eclectic overview of different business and cultural aspects.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Most of the expenses were covered by the program fee. Extra expenses such as certain meals or souvenirs varied according to person.
