I absolutely loved studied abroad and very glad that I decided to go to Cork. If I had the change to go again, I would in a heart beat.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The academic system in Univeristy College Cork is a bit different than what I have experienced at my host university. Simply, there is a different point value system, but the grades are converted into a gpa upon return. The classes were very interesting and being able to take classes that were not necessarily readily available was a great opportunity. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The housing where I lived was in the city of Cork. Everything was readily accessible from the housing and fully furnished. I had a great experience being able to live with two girls from America as well as living with two girls from Ireland. |
* Food: |
Even though I did not eat out often, the times that I did eat out the food was very good. All types of food were easy to obtain from the local Tesco to fresh foods from the English Market |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Cork is a great city with many different sites to see and many social opportunities. I felt that the Irish culture is a very welcoming and friendly one. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
The campus health center was open to all students and I felt as though Cork was a very safe city. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
