Looking back, I have greatly improved my professional self. I have learned what office environments I enjoy working in, what future experiences to look for and what keeps me motivated. Michael S - University of New Hampshire View Entire Review
I gained so many hands-on skills from my internship. My internship allowed me to work with a sports team which I wouldn't have been able to do in America. I also become more independent and self-confident through living in a foreign country. It was a completely worthwhile experience. Meghan Watkins - University of Rhode Island View Entire Review
I learned everything I could from my supervisors and co-workers! They taught me how to properly prepare diets for most of the animals, how to properly handle animals that were fragile, how to diagnose some illness and how to administer medicine to treat ill animals. Pamela Mulkay - University of Central Florida View Entire Review
I learned so much from my experience abroad. I gained a lot of confidence working with children, which is the group of people I want to work with when I'm older. I became a lot more independent by navigating public transportation across Australia. I learned about different cultures throughout different cities in Australia, as we... The healthcare system in Australia is much different, and I was able to get hands on experience, which I wouldn't have been able to do in the US. I think this makes the experience worthwhile, since it gives me a step up from other applicants to physical therapy school. A student - Ohio Northern University View Entire Review
This whole experience has changed my life. As cliché as that sounds, I can say with complete honesty that it is 100% true. Before this trip I had never been out of North America, let alone, away from my family and friends for this long. While there were definitely times where it was tough and I really didn’t want to do this whol... Kate D. - Michigan State University View Entire Review
I grew as a person. Since I was handicapped most of the time, I learned to exceed my limits, physically and mentally. It was definitely worthwhile. tania.lyn.5 - University of Central Florida View Entire Review
I learned a lot about myself and what it's like to work in a professional environment. I also had lots of time to explore and learn about the culture. TravelBug - North Carolina State University View Entire Review
My internship helped me understand the pros and cons working for a non-profit organization in a different environment. It was indeed worthwhile because I learned valuable skills and assets that can be applied for future employment. I also helped narrow my career interests. I gained so much from my experience that this box will not allow me to write that much, and I would not even know where to begin. It developed my personal and profesional skills. Patrick F - Kansas State University View Entire Review
I am so glad that I decided to do this abroad program. I stayed in my home town for college, so leaving home for nine weeks to work abroad made me feel a lot more confident that I can leave home for graduate school. I also learned a lot about Australian culture, as well as the cultures of a lot of my coworkers. This abroad exper... I learned how to live in a place far away from my comfort zone, all while having a schedule that I had to stick to in order to meet internship requirements. It taught me time management, workplace skills and so much more. The experience was definitely worthwhile and I have memories from Australia that will last a lifetime. I learned so much through my internship that will help me in the future. I also learned about Australia's different culture. I loved every minute of this entire experience. Erin Crotty - University of Kentucky View Entire Review
This experience was incredibly worthwhile. I learned to appreciate and understand that people in different parts of the world do things differently than we do in the US, and just because it's different doesn't mean it's wrong. I really grew as a person and gained an incredible amount of cultural intelligence that I could not hav... Lucy Witchell - University of Wisconsin - Madison View Entire Review
I learned a lot about myself, and was able to work in the field I want to go into after I graduate. It was absolutely worthwhile, and there is a chance I may go back eventually. Chris M - Michigan State University View Entire Review

It was amazing, however like I have mentioned several times early the Australearn advisor was horrible I beleive her name was Michelle (not from SCSU). She told us to go to a terrible area of town and some students even seen her and her boyfriend half naked as they when into their room about to do the dirty deed very unproffesio... It was definitely worthwhile. I learned so many things about myself and the country. I gained a broadened view of life in another country and how some of my decisions we directly correlate back to my experience abroad. I will definitely travel to Australia again!
