I finally got and outward perspective, and yes. Tyler S - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I learned so much about Australia, Melbourne, and the people that I was so privileged to live with Michael Herlihy - Stonehill College View Entire Review
While forming relationships abroad, I began to initiate conversations about life outlook, especially because I was interested in the perspective of non-American students. I started to relate to others not based upon the similarities we share, but what we can teach each other about how the other lives and what the other plans for... I learned to survive alone and to make a new place feel like home quickly. Ana St. Louis - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I learned how to be more independent and self-sufficient and take advantage of all the opportunities around me. Madi Hayes - Quinnipiac University View Entire Review
I've learned so many skills that extend beyond the classroom. The biggest and most important characteristic I've gained while being abroad is independence. Without studying abroad I would not have had the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture, travel without any of my classmates, make new friends from all over the count... Learned a lot about myself and gaining the knowledge of living in an exciting urban city in Australia A student - College of Charleston View Entire Review
Absolutely worthwhile! To use an old cliche, I definitely learned a lot about myself being thrown into an entirely new setting with all new people! This experience gave me a new outlook on the world, and I think that it's help me to become a global citizen. I would absolutely do it again in a heartbeat! Allison R - University of Virginia View Entire Review
Because I studied abroad, I have a much greater appreciation for learning about other cultures and countries. I love traveling, but being able to experience a place for an extended period of time, and actually go to school in a different country was an enriching experience that I am forever grateful for. Mia K - University of Michigan - Ann Arbor View Entire Review
I learned about Australian culture, and gained an amazing sense of adventure. Being abroad was the greatest thing I've ever done. Between weekend trips to Gold Coast, Bali, and New Zealand, you feel like you are always on an adventure. Once you're in Australia, you have a whole new hemisphere to explore! I learned independence, ... Val N - University of Rhode Island View Entire Review
I learned so much about myself while I was abroad. Mostly I learned that I am much more brave and independent than I ever thought was possible. The whole process challenged me in many different ways, but it was worth it. I wouldn't change it for the world. Lauren B - Washington State University - Pullman campus View Entire Review
It was definitely worthwhile! I learned that traveling is addicting, as well as the advantages of attending a large university. I also learned how to adapt to big city life, never having lived in a large city before. A student - Western Washington University View Entire Review

It was 100% worthwhile. I met new friends from all over the world and got to experience the Australian culture for 5 months. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!! Erica S - Miami University View Entire Review
I learned about the outside world and wasn't stuck in that American bubble anymore. I realized how different the rest of the world really is. Madison Walker - College of Charleston View Entire Review
I gained a broader worldview, the ability to look back at my own country and better understand it, including understanding the culture, people, and myself. Tom - Stevens Institute of Technology View Entire Review
This trip was so worthwhile, the experience will last forever in my mind. The people I met, the places I went, and all the little moments on the trip will stay with me for my entire lifetime. I got course work done that I needed for my degree, but I was able to accompany this by traveling around Australia and seeing a completely... I learned more than I ever could have expected. I learned how to be independent and I learned that you have to put yourself out there to meet people and get the full experience. I gained knowledge and confidence. This was the most amazing experience of my life and if I could do it over 100 more times, I would. I would not change... Life experience and tons of Business experience. Matt A James - Birmingham-Southern College View Entire Review
My study abroad experience was very worthwhile. I learned how to step out of my comfort zone. I travelled to a country across the world where I knew absolutely no one. I went skydiving in New Zealand and made friends from all over the world. I also learned how to be more independent and organized. Carly Levick - University of Michigan - Ann Arbor View Entire Review
This experience was very worthwhile. I learned how to interact in a diverse working environment. I learned how to appreciate a different culture and differing points of view. Jarrett B - Towson University View Entire Review
Key skills I took away from my study abroad experience were: how to budget, travel independently, and how to adjust to culture shock. Melbourne was a great place to study abroad because there was no language barrier in classes, yet I could always find new cultures to explore and discover. Melbourne has a lot diversity in cultur... Any experience in a foreign country for a year will undeniably make you learn a lot about yourself and collect a tonne of experiences, and that was certainly the case for me. In addition, Australia is an incredibly beautiful country with a welcoming culture and kind people, so it's an ideal place for a year abroad. It was all de... Participating in the TEAN program was one of the best choices I have ever made. I gained a new sense of confidence and independence while living in Australia. My time abroad changed my life and how I will live long after the program ended. My sense of wanderlust has been pushed to full throttle. I want to take the world be storm... Studying abroad is about more than the physical time spent in another country, but about the skills that a student walks about with from the entire experience. In Australia, a major skill I have gained is the ability to adapt; adapt to new cultures, places, situations. Every person will be in a situation with unexpected changes,...
