WorldStrides has partnered up with Freie Universität to offer this exciting chance to study abroad in Berlin, Germany! Study in English or German in a number of subject areas such as art history, German & European studies, film studies, architecture, and more. German language classes are required, although no prior experience is required. Stay with a carefully selected host family to be fully immersed in the German way of life, or opt to live in a full furnished studio apartment. A week long excursion is included in the program fee. Places traveled to in the past include Paris, Vienna, Munich or Prague, among others.

  • Germany is renowned for its festivals, such as Oktoberfest in Munich and the Berlin International Film Festival, or Dresden Christmas Market. 

  • From street art and alternative fashion to innovative tech start-ups and sustainable initiatives, students can immerse themselves in the cutting-edge trends and ideas that emerge from this vibrant cultural landscape. 

  • English is spoken throughout the country making it easy for students to get around! 

  • Berlin is a multicultural city with a diverse population, including a large international student community. 

  • The city is a magnet for music lovers, offering an eclectic mix of genres and venues. From underground techno clubs to indie music festivals and live jazz performances

WorldStrides Scholarships

WorldStrides will award one scholarship each year to a participating student for the full list price of the ISA program. The GO Full-Ride Scholarship can be used for an ISA program and covers the full program fee. In order to be considered for this scholarship, all applicants must apply and meet the eligibility requirements for one of the other ISA scholarships by the deadline. There will be one GO Full-Ride Scholarship awarded per year.

Deadlines:
Summer: February 28th Fall: April 30 Winter/Spring: October 30th

Guidelines/Requirements:
• Be accepted to a WorldStrides study abroad, internship, or community engagement program. • Have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA. • Have completed at least one year of college level foreign language or the equivalent. Courses must appear on official transcript. • Be enrolled in second or third year of undergraduate education at a U.S. university/college at time of program participation. • Be on financial aid. FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) and home university Award Letter/form required. **Please refer to the ISA scholarship page for more information on guidelines/requirements.

We believe in expanding access and increasing opportunities for individuals from various backgrounds to become global learners by reducing financial barriers. This scholarship is intended for summer and semester students looking to create an impact on the world around them, bringing their own personal perspectives to an international experience.

2 x $1,000 for Summer Programs; 3 x $2,000 for Fall Programs; 3 x $2,000 for Winter/Spring Programs
