I gained greater perspectives about the world and about other people. Seeing more of the world is an invaluable experience that no movie, image, or story can replace, which is why my experience was so worthwhile. I made friendships that will last a lifetime and wish I could go back already. A student - Villanova University View Entire Review
SO worthwhile. I learned how to be on my own and push myself out of my comfort zone to make new friends from all around the world. I had so many new outdoor experiences such as walking on a glacier, bungee jumping, and canyoning! This experience has changed my life. I gained so much from my experience abroad. I learned to appreciate and respect so many different cultures and I gained a tremendous amount of independence. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and grew from that in so many different ways. This experience was more than worthwhile and I left with so many memories that I will ch... Study abroad was certainly the most worthwhile experience I have ever pushed myself to undertake. I learned all the cliche lessons that you read from study abroad alumni - they only sound so cliche until you take the jump and do it and realize they are all true. I feel more independent, more self-sufficient, and confident in my ... Amanda Bednarick - University of Rhode Island View Entire Review
New Zealand is a place I had never even thought about until I discovered TEAN hosted a study abroad program there that my university was affiliated with. I don't know think I would have ultimately decided to live on the other side of the world for an entire semester if it wasn't for TEAN. After meeting with them, I had this new ... Studying abroad is not like going on vacation to another country because you have enough time to fully immerse yourself in the culture and experience life in another country. All the new experiences I had while abroad put me a little out of my comfort zone at times; however, I couldn't be more glad to have been a part of every e... I learned to be more open with people, to come out of my comfort zone every once in a while, you can learn new things from the most unlikely of sources, and you never know what you like until you try it. I feel like a left a part of myself in New Zealand and came back to the U.S with an improved version of myself. Alyssa Rabade - Rollins College View Entire Review

I learned how to be independent. My whole traditional support system was quite literally on the other side of the world with a large time difference. If I ever had an issue, I was always able to contact my RA with TEAN and they would always provide a plethora of information to keep me prepared Allison Miller - University of Iowa View Entire Review
During my time in New Zealand, I feel as though I was able to integrate fully into the laid-back lifestyle of the Kiwi population. I spent much of my free time exploring the naturally beautiful landscapes that the country had to offer and taking full advantage of the hospitality that was easily found around every corner. TEAN ma... Brian Gage - University of Massachusetts Amherst / UMass View Entire Review

While I was abroad, I learned a lot about myself and how to be more independent and grow as a person and a learner. It was absolutely worthwhile and I would do it again a million times. Who I became while I was abroad is so much closer to the person I want to be, and it was an experience I will never forget and cherish forever. Studying abroad in New Zealand is easily the best decision I have made in my college. When I finally decided to do it, I knew NZ would be the perfect place. And perfect it was! Out of all my 21 years, I believe that I grew the most during my five months abroad. I started out on this journey completely alone, which was absolutely terrifying.
