I learned how to adapt to the British education system, such that I learned to teach myself. I also learned how to navigate London and appreciate all that British culture had to offer. I also learned a lot about myself while abroad and have obtain an desire to travel and explore more. I miss Kingston and London more than I th... - Berea College View Entire Review

I was able to make a few good friends during my stay--both with British students and with other international students. I felt that I was stretched and challenged academically, which I hope will lend itself to the rest of my studies at my home uni. Studying in England didn't really have a huge impact on my cultural awareness... - Texas Womans University View Entire Review
I learned that even similar cultures do mundane things extremely different than us. I learned how independent I am and can be when needed. I learned I love travelling and never want to be put in something that limits me from going abroad. I learned an incredible amount about myself and the world that simply can't be read but mus... - Doane College View Entire Review
Yes, it was SO worthwhile! I would have stayed there for my entire college experience if I could have! Through this experience I've become a more relaxed person (I was a very stressed perfectionist before), much more independent and confident, and I accept myself more. I think that the English are much more accepting of individu... - Kansas State University View Entire Review

About

Reading is a community rich with numerous music, art and cultural festivals, in addition to a thriving theatre scene. Situated on the River Thames, and only a 30-minute train ride from Central London, Reading provides a great blend of suburban living with easy access to the big city. A walk through town shows off Reading's unique blend of old and new, with picturesque streets lined with traditional red brick structures and modern commercial buildings. A quick jump on a train can have students venturing out into the surrounding English countryside for a pleasant stress free day. Study Abroad students will quickly discover that this English university is a great destination for international students who find themselves on a campus comprised of 300 acres of landscaped parkland; once a medieval manor estate. The campus provides an ideal setting for a modern university and a perfect environment for study abroad students to immerse themselves in the local culture and traditions.
