Boston University is a program provider offering 41 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad and Internship abroad programs in 9 countries such as The United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, and France.
At Boston University, global learning is at the heart of our mission to prepare students for meaningful impact in an interconnected world. Through BU Study Abroad, we offer one of the largest and most diverse portfolios of university-run international programs in the United States. With more than 80 programs in over 20 countries, our students have the opportunity to live, learn, and engage in communities across six continents.
Our programs are academically rigorous and designed to align with students’ fields of study. Many of our signature offerings integrate classroom learning with practical experience through internships, research placements, and service opportunities abroad. Whether it’s studying public health in Geneva, completing a film production internship in Los Angeles, or exploring global business in Shanghai, students gain real-world experience while earning BU credit.
In addition to our international sites, we offer domestic study away programs in cities like Washington, D.C., New York, and Los Angeles—providing further flexibility and professional development options. All BU Study Abroad programs are supported by dedicated staff, both on campus and in-country, to ensure that students receive the academic, cultural, and personal support they need for a successful experience.
As a global research institution, we are committed to helping students expand their perspectives, challenge assumptions, and develop the skills needed to thrive in today’s global landscape. At Boston University, studying abroad isn’t just about travel—it’s about transformation.
