Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Was worthwhile - met a lot of interesting people"
Meghana L Wellesley College
"I learned that Wellesley is a microcosm of neuroticism and that in general, things are not that deep. I learned to not take everything so seriously all the time and to let myself live. It was very worthwhile."
Charlotte A Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile to live in a different place and have the chance to visit Europe for the first time. "
Jack K Middlebury College
"I learned how ignorant the Americans are and how compassion and genuine interest can go a long way. Experience was totally worth it. Thanks mom for giving me the nudge!"

A student Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about how to be independent and take care of myself in the real world. I had to fly over there on my own and my second semester I cooked for myself. I also was able to feel like more of a regular young person - going out to pubs and engaging in local culture. Definitely allowed me to feel more independent compare..."
A student Middlebury College
"I felt like I grew a lot as an independent individual, and learned about diverse cultures."
A student Middlebury College
"I definitely became more independent overall. Not that I was very dependent on anyone before, but I was forced to rely pretty much only on myself for four months, financially, socially, and in many other ways. It was also a chance to experience a larger university than Middlebury and everything, good and bad, that comes with tha..."
A student Middlebury College
"I got the opportunity to meet a lot of people from across the globe which I really appreciate. I was also able to visit places I hadn't previously explored. London is also very well connected to other places in the UK and Europe which makes it easy to travel. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned about Scottish traditions and got to compare the way they live life to the way we do in America. I would choose a different program, perhaps in a larger city, if I had to go again."
A student Middlebury College
"I had the chance to experience what university life at a larger institution would look like! It was also fun to learn British slang, get to know the culture and explore the UK and Europe."

"To grow more independent and value time spent alone. Worthwhile and fun at times, but also very difficult."
A student Middlebury College
"My time abroad taught me a newfound independence. I was thrown into the fire of living "on my own": I had to cook for myself, I had to navigate public transport by myself, I had to budget. It strengthened my negotiation skills and my co-habilitation skills; yes, it was worthwhile. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned so much about my craft: the history, technique, and individual connection. "
A student Belmont University
"I got to meet so many incredible people from around the world, some of who I still keep in contact with. Learning about Irish history, then going to those exact historic sites the next day was amazing. It is easily the highlight of my college time by a long shot."
A student University of Oregon
"I gained a lot of experience being independent, meeting different people, and learning about a different culture. It was definitely worthwhile and has changed the way that I view the world."
A student Middlebury College

A student Wellesley College
"Living every day outside of what's familiar was an amazing experience and I learned a lot about myself. "
A student Brandeis University
"I had a fantastic time. I was able to budget and travel internationally almost every week for all four and a half months. I have a much more worldly perspective, and I think I matured incredibly while I was away and out of my comfort zone. 10000/10."
