Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Yes! Study abroad is so important. "
Catherine K Indiana University - Bloomington
"I learned a lot about how different other cultures can be, even ones that seem very similar to America. I also had to learn a lot about how to take care of myself in a different country, which was very beneficial for me"
A student Arcadia University
"Being immersed in a language and culture was incredible. I loved being able to constantly practice the language and be slightly outside of my comfort zone. "

"New Zealand is very pretty. Traveling is expensive."

"I got to experience a different culture and meet new people that come from much different cultures than mine, and the one we were all learning under. Overall I loved it and it made me fall in love with a city and country so much :)"
MJCarr32 Regent’s University London
"I learned that you just have to live in the moment and not worry about how much something costs or how much time you have left because you might miss out on something you will regret later on."
A student Nichols College
"I learned to change my perspective of the world. Most definitely worth while!"
Jennifer M Texas Tech
"I learned that the people of Jordan and the surrounding areas are incredibly welcoming and diverse. These people have a different religion, speak a different language, and live across the world from me, but we are not that different from each other. "
Emma K The College of New Jersey
"Awareness of the world, meeting international students, meeting people from other cultures, trying different food, trying different methods of life, exploring."

"Studying abroad in a foreign country, especially in a city, required me to be so much more independent. Traveling through so many different parts of Australia, as well as New Zealand's south island, was a great experience too. Definitely go to New Zealand and Cairns (near the reef and rain forest) if you can, they were probably ..."
Maxwell W Middlebury College
"I learned that I can live independently from my parents who were an ocean away. I learned that there are a great many other cultures that I had not had a lot of experience with prior to this experience. I also gained the knowledge that even though my classmates and I might not be from the same place, we had similar views. "
Sophia O John Carroll University
"It was so incredibly worthwhile. It's hard to explain what I learned and gained. I definitely gained an appreciation for the Scottish culture, and realized that my own culture isn't perfect. I learned how to integrate myself in another culture, and although the language was still English, I learned how to speak it the Scottis..."
Sarah L Truman State University
"Gained independence and traveling skills, met students from all over the world, experienced different teaching styles from my professors. Definitely a worthwhile experience!"
sbruns1 Truman State University
"I learned not to be afraid to try new things. I also learned that being social is easier than it seems. You never know the type of people you can relate to if you're judging them from the outside. This experience was extremely worthwhile. I would do it again if I could (just not through Globalinks)."
Dianna A University of Hartford
"I learned to figure things out for myself. Definitely worthwhile. "

"Even though I felt I was already independent, I definitely became even more confident in my ability to take care of myself. I learned a lot about living in a city, which I appreciated after living in the suburbs my whole life. I learned to appreciate my surroundings and really embrace new experiences, even more so than I have do..."
A student Wellesley College
"The experience was definitely worthwhile. You learn a lot about yourself and you impress yourself at times with how mature you are while also having a few wow-no-clue-what-I'm-doing moments. It's entirely what you make of it."
toni.forte University of Miami
"Learned a lot about traveling and how eye opening the rest of the world lives. Yes it was worthwhile. "
Malena C The University of Texas at Austin

"Here is my overall summary of my semester in Ghana: I studied abroad in Cape Coast, Ghana during the spring of 2014 with the CISabroad program. CISabroad’s Ghana program was fairly small (7-8 students), but this made our experience incredibly intimate and personalized. I spoke to other students who studied abroad with large..."
Lauren L Boston University
"I loved my IES Abroad program! I attended the Beijing Language Intensive program in the summer and fall of 2014, and had the time of my life. The faculty were amazing, and truly understood what it is like to learn Chinese as a foreigner. The program also makes it easy to get out and explore Beijing and the rest of China. With IE..."
