Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I met lots of people from many different countries and had the opportunity to travel in Europe. I also got to experience another culture and be completely on my own. I would definitely recommend studying abroad! I enjoyed Madrid but I was ready to move on after a few months, so I think a program that takes place in a few differe..."

"I became much more independent and learned how to fully take care of myself. I learned a lot of hiking and camping skills. I learned a lot about wildlife and where my interests lie in biology. "

"The streets of Dublin are littered with friendly international travelers! Going on this trip bolstered my confidence to go out and take chances. It's been my experience that people are pretty nice where ever you go and don't mind helping foreigners (except for London haha, don't know what's up with that place). Meeting new peopl..."

"I felt that I learned to be more independent, and I learned more about myself than I ever thought possible. I also think that I learned to appreciate other cultures, and most importantly that there is no one best way of doing things. "
A student Clark University - Worcester
"It can't really be summed up in a little box the things that I learnt and gained on exchange and I suppose that kinda says it all. Are you kidding? Of course it was worthwhile! I left wishing I could go back and relive the past 6 months over and over again! "

"I learned to adapt to a new culture, a new environment, a new way of living, a new language, new people, all by myself without any support from family or friends from home (except by phone/email). I think this experience really showed me what I'm capable of, and I'm really glad that I went by myself instead of with friends, beca..."

"That different parts of the world live differently than we do in America, and that sometimes what we know is not the only or the best way to go through life. Instead life is something to enjoy at all points and that stress and work is a good drive to have, but should not take over your life. Every place I traveled throughout G..."
Julia E Worcester State University
"Learned a ton about English culture, but even more about American culture - I was their only American by the end of the year so I was the authority on all things American. I wasn't born in America so in the states I never considered myself to be that American, but this year I realized just how American I am. I also learned so mu..."

"It's better to treat it like you've just moved there than to treat it like a vacation. I believe I got more out of the experience because I tried to create more meaningful relationships with the people. "

"I learned how incredibly small Europe is. I also learned that Germany is the best place to watch a World Cup, ERASMUS students (students in the EU) study abroad almost exclusively to learn a language and are not accountable for their GPA while abroad, and that John Travolta was right in Pulp Fiction when he said that Europe is b..."

A student Presbyterian College
"To be honest, the quality of education is much higher at Brandeis University. The workload and academic pressure is stronger at Brandeis. Also, you are losing 25% of your opportunity to raise your GPA. If you are a student who wants to academically learn and do well in your school work to pursue higher education, I strongly reco..."

"Study abroad is as much about the in class experiences as it is about what you do outside the classrooms. Study abroad gave me a more confident voice. I learned what I liked and did not like and how to go after the things I wanted. I learned it's okay to change your path in life. I met people from many places and that you meet y..."

"I LOVE EDINBURGH. It is my favorite city right now. Every square inch is beautiful. It's fun and has a wide variety of old and young. I loved wandering around. I also loved getting into a new university system."
Augusta H Barnard College
"My experience taught me to think about art making in an entirely new way. Though I wish I had spent my time making different pieces, I feel the knowledge I gained about contemporary art was entirely worthwhile. My italian improved. Ultimately, I received what I had wanted to from the program: art and italian. I would only wish t..."
