Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"The value of knowing people near and far. This was the best experience of my life; I'd do it again in a heartbeat. "
Kyra C University of South Florida
"I learned more about myself than anywhere else. Also - coming from a well-to-do background, Ireland grounded my head allot. I didn't need anything crazy while there and just generally got to enjoy the country, people and history. When I got back to my university - money, cars, clothes generally had far less interest to me. I thi..."

"I loved it. I learned a lot about how to do things on your own. I was very independent, I was one of the only students from Middlebury(and only girl) that went to UNSW, so i was forced to really branch out and take risks both socially and academically. "
Charlotte D Middlebury College
"It was worthwhile because I needed to see what would happen if I went abroad. I learned that I don't like to live alone and that I loved America even more than I thought I did. Some go abroad and don't want to leave, but I found an appreciation for where I was from."
A student Trinity University
"I gained so much personally. I grew into an adult in Cape Town and made so many great friends there. It was definitely worthwhile to experience a new perspective on life and how the Africans do it! "
Anna K Trinity University
"I learned how to be able to handle different culinary experiences and challenges appropriately with real world application and mentoring. I was very impressed with the preparation, but I felt there should have been more homework or materials covered. I felt it was very much a chance for the students to get publicity and exposure..."

A student Middlebury College
"My time abroad was very worthwhile, one of the best decisions I've made. My language skills did improve while I was there. I think one of the best things I found was that I didn't realize how much I learned until the end of the semester. In addition, I've created and maintained valuable friendships."
Elizabeth S Skidmore College
"A bunch. Yes."
A student Middlebury College

"Don't hang out with Chileans simply because they are Chilean. Seek them out because they are people your age with similar interests. That is what builds strong friendships. I had a "just say yes" policy and always accepted invitations to hang out. Never a let down."
