Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Japan is really weird, I love it and sometimes I would hate it, but it was a worthwhile experience. Life in Japan made me realize how American I am."
Tony L The University of Texas at Austin
"It was absolutely worthwhile. I gained a global perspective. I learned what its like to be a foreigner in a new country. I learned whats its like to not be able to communicate to the people around you. I learned what its like to be part of a 'we' instead of an 'I'. I learned much more than what be put into words, but I know that..."

"I need to say that whoever does this program, MUST plan a trip to New Zealand. It was awesome. I will upload some pictures in this review. My week throughout the entire south island of New Zealand completely eclipses the rest of my experience abroad. It's also expensive (paid for a planned tour that included transportation a..."

"It was SO worthwhile. Getting the chance to just do things differently, being thrown into situations with people you barely know, showing off your strengths and admitting to your weaknesses. I was so use to the groove of how things were done back home but this experience added new dimensions to the scope and context which I vie..."

"It sounds cliché, but I learned that I can be more independent. A program like this forces you to go outside the confines of what you are comfortable with - academically, socially, physically and mentally. I would do it again in a heartbeat - totally worth it. "

simon m San Jose State University
"I learned how to be a bit more flexible and take risks with my work because I had to-- I didn't know what the tutors wanted and even after they commented on one paper, it wasn't often very applicable to the next beyond a few general things (length etc.) so I just had to go off, read like crazy, come up with something and learn t..."

"I loved it! Besides the school, everything was wonderful! I love all the people that I met and already plan on seeing them! I loved traveling and meeting people. I can't wait to go back to Europe to see more! It really opened up my eyes to other countries and how they view us and other people. "
Lauren C University of Wisconsin - Stout
"It was worthwhile. I learned that I can be very accepting of other peoples cultures...I lived with four Irish males and they reminded me everyday that I was American.
